So many challenges, its a miracle it was made at all! Martin Sheen could have died here, and Marlon Brando was NOT at his healthiest either. Shot on location in the troubled, Marcos Philippines - the searing heat almost canceled production! Don't think it could ever be duplicated today! No computer graphics!

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse is just as harrowing, just as important, and just as shocking as Coppola's incredibly influential picture, Apocalypse Now. Bahr and Hickenlooper reflect on one of histories most controversial and truly inspiring film-productions out there and how sometimes the line between art imitating life, and life imitating art begins to blur, especially for those who are truly committed to both.

I love behind the scenes perspectives on classic films and filmmakers. This documentary has great structure and shows you a deeper story to the realism in Apocalypse Now. I highly recommend this film!
