The Deep

Directed by Baltasur Kormákur, The Deep is based on an incredible true story. 1984. A fishing boat goes missing off the coast of Iceland, in some of the planet's most forbidding seas, leaving the fishermen at the mercy of frigid and turbulent waters. Miraculously, one of the crew, Gulli, manages to survive, despite being exposed to temperatures in which most people wouldn't have lasted mere minutes. Gulli is suddenly a national hero, a symbol of endurance for a country; yet he also becomes a scientific curiosity. How will Gulli deal with his new found fame and the interest in him, not as a man, but as a freak of nature?
