Description

André Braugher stars as an idealistic, young black priest who uses a basketball game to challenge the social conventions of a segregationist city in the inspirational true story Passing Glory. 1965. New Orleans. Appointed by his mentor, Father Robert Grant (Rip Torn), to teach history and coach basketball at an all-black high school, Father Joseph Verrett (Braugher) sparks the Civil Rights movement in his city. Defiantly, he organizes an unprecedented event: his undefeated St. Augustine Knights will face their fiercest competition--the Jesuits, an all-white squad from across town.
