"Big Pun: The Legacy" tells a story of a New York rapper who rose to fame and glory in the '90s and tragically passed away at the age of 28. It celebrates the short-lived career of a young artist named Christopher Rios who rose from a life of adversity and managed to capture the hearts of millions of fans. Big Pun instantly became a Hip Hop superstar in 1998 with the release of his debut album "Capital Punishment." By 1999 Pun revolutionized history by becoming the first Latino rap solo artist to sell over a million records and by making the most feature guest appearances in one year. Later that year, Big Pun became a Grammy nominated artist for his chart topping single - "Still Not a Player." His accomplishments opened doors for many up-and-coming Latino artists in Hip Hop. His talent and passions unanimously made him one of the greatest lyricists in the history of Hip Hop. On February 7, 2000, Christopher Rios passed away when he suffered a heart attack, after a long struggle with his weight. Thousands of mourning fans gathered at his wake in the Bronx, New York, to pay tribute to their idol and a resounding legacy, which lives today in the hearts of his fans and fellow artists. Visually stunning, this moving life story runs for approximately 90 minutes, features never-before seen concert footage, behind the scenes interviews with Big Pun himself, and includes excerpts from chart-topping artists.
