Naruto and Killer Bee rush to the battlefield when Nine Tails suddenly speaks to Naruto inside his mind. The Nine Tails questions Naruto’s intent to end the hatred in the world and reminds him of how he was unable to save Sasuke.

Over at the Medical Unit camp, Sakura and the other medic ninja work nonstop to treat the wounded. Neji is there to recover from overusing his Byakugan. When several jonin medics are found dead, people suspect that a spy may have infiltrated their camp.

Kiba, Shino, and Hinata are sent to investigate an area where the Akatsuki are supposedly getting through. There, the three are ambushed by a White Zetsu and get separated. When they regroup, Shino suspects that a White Zetsu may be posing as one of them, creating distrust amongst the team.

Back at the Fifth Company’s camp, Kurotsuchi attempts to negotiate with the captive Deidara to find out Kabuto’s location, but is quickly rebuffed. When Deidara learns that Sasuke survived his ultimate art explosion, he plans an escape with help from a White Zetsu.

With many of the shinobi away serving in the Fourth Great Ninja War, the Leaf Village is left with just the mothers and children to protect it. Konohamaru is eager to guard the village but is quickly discouraged by the adults who tell him to just go about his day as usual. But when they hear about a strange sighting nearby, Konohamaru suspects that an enemy might be planning to attack the village.

Tsunade and the Raikage arrive to prevent Naruto and Killer Bee from joining the battle. But the two Kage fail to convince the Jinchuriki to turn back, forcing the Raikage to use extreme force. Killer Bee tries to reason with his brother by reminding him of the time they first met and of the vow they made to each other.

Fourth Raikage Ay attacks Naruto in an attempt to prevent the Jinchuriki from falling into Madara’s hands. Ay is unwilling to listen to either Tsunade or Killer Bee’s pleas to change his mind. Can Naruto convince the Raikage to let him join his friends in battle?

Kakashi assigns Sai to take over for the Sealing Corps, who are recovering from sealing the reanimated shinobi. But Sai is not sure if he can handle the responsibility. Soon afterwards, the Third Company is attacked by Jinin Akebino, a former Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist reanimated by the Akatsuki.

A group of Allied Shinobi, including Omoi and Maki of the Sand, battle against several reanimated enemies. Maki recognizes one of them as Pakura, her former master who was a Sand Village hero. Pakura wants revenge against those responsible for her death, and is determined to kill anyone who stands in her way, including Maki.

Still coping with the loss of her loved ones, Tsunade indulges in gambling and drinking. Around the same time, the Raikage Ay and his men are on a mission to steal a scroll from a certain village. The untold story shared between Tsunade and Ay is about to be revealed!

The Raikage Ay and his team suffer critical injuries during an enemy attack. Unwilling to sacrifice any more of his men, Ay seeks medical help from Tsunade, who just happens to be in the area. Tsunade reluctantly agrees, hiding the fact that she suffers from a fear of blood. Will Tsunade be able to save their lives?

Kakashi races to the scene where the Seven Ninja Swordsmen Kushimaru Kuriarare and Jinpachi Munashi were last sighted. Enraged by the carnage they’ve left behind, Kakashi teams up with Might Guy to go up against the two cold-blooded shinobi.

Omoi’s unit is attacked by Ameyuri Ringo of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and loses one of Omoi’s men. Omoi attempts to avenge his comrade, but Nurui orders everyone to retreat. Disgusted by Nurui’s cowardice, Omoi ignores the order and fights Ameyuri alone.

Naruto and his team are assigned a mission to identify and hunt down the perpetrator of the Tonika Village massacre. It’s been a while since Naruto has had a mission, and he’s pumped to take it on. But what he witnesses is the aftermath of a fierce battle. Why was the village targeted? And who is responsible?

While investigating the village near Tonika, Kabuto confronts Naruto. An epic battle erupts as Kabuto uses the forbidden Reanimation Jutsu against Naruto. In the meantime, Dokku and the five survivors lie low at the village where Mina learns a particular melody that she keeps playing on the xylophone. Naruto manages to get to know Dokku and the children despite an initial misunderstanding. As they talk, he learns about the legend surrounding the Hole and the Mystic Power.

Naruto and Sakura decide to stay at Shiseru’s house overnight to help watch over the survivors. Although the children cry and miss their deceased parents, Dokku and Shiseru try hard to bring everyone together as a new family. Suddenly Naruto falls gravely ill, and Mina demands that he leave at once.

A clone possessing the Nine Tails’ chakra emerges from Naruto’s body. Seeking more power, the clone goes on a rampage, destroying everything in its path. Will the Leaf ninja be able to stop this powerful clone?!

After their defeat by the Nine Tails’ clone, Naruto and Dokku are taken captive by Kabuto. Revealing their plans to take control of the great power locked inside the “Hole,” Kabuto and his accomplice seek the final key to undo the seal.

The legendary Ama no Hoko imbues the Nine Tails’ clone with enough power to destroy the world. Naruto is overcome by its immense power and lies unconscious, when the real Nine Tails offers to lend him strength.

Naruto makes his entrance onto the battlefield and uses his sensory powers to detect and destroy the transformed White Zetsu clones. During the battle, Shikaku updates Naruto with what they currently know on Madara. Realizing the enemy will use hate to destroy peace, Naruto vows to put an end to this war at all cost.

Gaara leads the Fourth Company into battle against the previous Kage, including his father, the late Fourth Kazekage. The Fourth Kazekage attacks Gaara in order to determine if his son is truly worthy to be the current Kazekage. During the course of battle, the Fourth Kazekage finally acknowledges his son’s growth and reveals the hidden truth behind the death of Gaara’s mother, Karura.

Naruto and Killer Bee engage in battle against the reanimated Itachi Uchiha and Nagato. Itachi learns from Naruto that Sasuke has chosen the path of vengeance. Seeing Naruto’s growth as a shinobi, Itachi reaffirms his decision to entrust his brother’s fate to Naruto. But then Kabuto takes control of Itachi to use his Mangekyo Sharingan against the two jinchuriki.

Itachi uses the ultimate genjutsu technique Koto Amatsukami to free himself from the Reanimation Jutsu. Itachi then joins Naruto and Killer Bee to fight Nagato, who is still under Kabuto’s control. But the three shinobi find themselves in danger when Nagato is forced to use his Planetary Devastation Jutsu on them.

The Fourth Company continue their fight against the reanimated Kage. Gaara and Ohnoki team up to hold off Second Tsuchikage Mu, while the remaining shinobi take on the Second Mizukage, who is willing to be sealed away. But the Fourth Company shinobi quickly learn that the Second Mizukage’s jutsu is too powerful for them to handle.

Temari leads the attack on the Third Raikage using Wind Style, but even her strongest jutsu is not enough to penetrate the Raikage’s invincible armor. Dodai states that a more powerful Wind Style User is needed in order to stand a chance, when Naruto arrives to assist them using his Wind Style Rasen Shuriken!

Gaara and Ohnoki manage to overcome the Second Mizukage’s mirage attack. Having taken an interest in Gaara, the Second Mizukage decides to further test the young Kage’s skills by unleashing his infinite explosion ninjutsu, the Steam Imp.

Shikamaru, Choji, Neji, and Kiba find themselves up against some familiar faces from the past. The Sound Ninja Four have been brought back by Kabuto’s Reanimation Jutsu, and they are ready to seek vengeance against the Leaf shinobi!

Shikamaru, Neji, Choji, and Kiba succeed in defeating the Sound Ninja Four. But the enemy uses the Underworld Transfer Jutsu to trap the Leaf shinobi’s souls inside a barrier. Their lives are on the line unless they can undo the jutsu quickly!
