About this movie

In this touching comedy based on the acclaimed novel by Nick Hornby, A Long Way Down centers on four strangers (Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots) who decide to end it all on New Year’s Eve. However, when they meet by chance on a London rooftop, they agree to halt their plans for six weeks. Along the way, they discover that even accidental, dysfunctional families make life worth living.

Suicide is not a funny subject in most cases and definitely not a common topic in every day conversation. Which makes me so glad for British humor and it's ability to scoff at the serious. While not refined this film is extraordinarily acted and written with the best of intention. The last shining through most of all. No, this won't be nominated most likely. But it will always be one of my favorites and definitely a best performance by Aaron Paul.

Just loved this movie. Found the characters to be easily liked. Such a serious subject, but the movie is rarely serious, although it has a few moments when the laughing and jokes cease to exist. I don't think it'll be a movie for everyone, but for me it was close to perfection for my taste. Great performances as well.

I happened across this movie and fell in love! I hate that it is only available to rent right now! I have watched it twice in the last 24 hours! The humor it brings to such a serious subject that many people deal with is amazing! It's witty, funny, and dismal all at once - you will laugh and cry at the same time! But don't just listen to me or any other review - watch it for yourself and come up with your own conclusion.
