Roommates

Mark accidentally runs into his old high school crush, Katie, on his way to a temp job. When he finds out she's looking for a roommate, he immediately tells her he wants the room. His plan is to move in and bide his time until Katie wants to have a romantic relationship with him. He moves out of his apartment with old college friend Thom, who encourages Mark to pursue his relationship with Katie. Katie's other two roommates, however, make Mark's plans a little more complicated. Mark discovers one roommate, Hope, is the angry barista he got in an argument with over an order of tea. The other roommate, James, discovers Mark's secret attraction toward Katie and makes every effort to mess up any of Mark's attempts at romance. 2009 ABC Family

After Katie and Ben break up, Katie is desperate to know who she is meant to spend her life with. Hope takes her to a tarot card reader, who convinces Katie that she will dream about her future lover. When Thom tells Mark that people dream about the last people they see at night, Mark makes a point of having Katie see him before she goes to sleep. James tries to mess up Mark's plan by having Katie see him before she goes to bed. The next day, Katie says she had a dream about James and Mark having sex. Katie and Hope visit the tarot reader again, but this time Thom tells Mark he bribed Madame Sapphire to push his name at Katie. Katie comes home with an envelope that supposedly has the name of the man she's going to spend the rest of her life with. After much chaos, Katie opens the envelope and reveals the name to be "Clark". Thom admits he had just spoken with a friend named Clark before he saw Madame Sapphire. 2009 ABC Family

Mark tries to help Katie find another job and inadvertently directs her to the same company where Hope supposedly still works. Hope makes Mark pose as an executive at the company who calls Katie to tell her the job is no longer available. Mark panics and has Thom make the call. The lie builds until Mark, posing as Chip Wallfridge and Katie begin a phone friendship. Finally, Hope has to admit to Katie that she lied about Chip and she was fired from her TV executive job and now works at a coffee shop. James takes the blame for posing as Chip so that Katie won't be mad at Mark. 2009 ABC Family

Katie is still trying to get over her breakup with Ben, so when she sees him in a bar with a date, she decides she can start dating again too. Mark is sure it is time for him to ask her out, but instead gets invited to go with her to pick out a new bed. Katie meets "the Mattress King" Eric, who looks a lot like Mark, much to Mark's horror. Katie thinks Eric is perfect, until he comes to cook a gourmet for the roommates and shows his true intentions. 2009 ABC Family

Hope's dad makes a surprise visit and tries to get her to move back home since she has such a low-paying job at the coffee shop. Desperate, Hope says she can't leave because she's in love with Mark. After an argument with Mark, Hope decides it's best to tell her dad the truth and assert that she can make it in the city without his help. 2009 ABC Family

Katie sets up Mark with a date with her friend Jenny. The date doesn't go well until both Mark and Jenny reveal their "crush" on Katie. James and Mark are convinced Jenny wants to have a three-way relationship. Mark learns the hard way the difference between a woman and a man having a crush on someone. 2009 ABC Family

Hope quits her job and is desperate to find another one. When she finds out Mark has a temp job with David Schick, a young and successful investor, she begs him to get her a job. David tries to get Mark to be his permanent assistant, but Mark convinces him to meet Hope. David comes to their apartment, but is more interested in Katie then Hope. 2009 ABC Family

Now that Katie is working for David Schick, Hope keeps pressuring her to find a job for her at the company. When Hope gives Katie a campaign idea that David loves, Katie takes the credit. When Hope discovers David liked her campaign idea, she thinks she has a job and Katie feels too guilty to tell her that she doesn't. 2009 ABC Family

James is baffled when a woman he picks up at a bar doesn't want to see him again. Mark fears that Katie thinks of him as girlfriend after she changes in front of him. As the roommates prepare for game night, Thom arrives with an unexpected guest, Alyssa, a woman who has an obsessive crush on Mark. Everyone gets drunk and Katie kisses Mark. While Mark thinks he's closing in on his ultimate goal of a relationship with Katie, she is not sure how she should approach Mark. 2009 ABC Family

Katie returns from her trip to Chicago with David. Mark buys expensive theatre tickets in hopes of taking Katie on date, without letting her know it's a date. Katie cancels on Mark at the last minute to have a business dinner with David, who is trying to pursue a romantic relationship with her. 2009 ABC Family

James' mother, Melinda, comes to visit the roommates to go on a date for the first time since her divorce. When the date doesn't go very well, Melinda becomes obsessed with cleaning the apartment. When Mark tries to compliment her to make her feel better, she kisses him. Hope and Katie try to figure out a way to make Melinda not be attracted to Mark. 2009 ABC Family

Katie's ex-boyfriend Ben holds a "Trash 'N' Treasures" party where people bring their exes and try to meet someone new. Katie becomes jealous when Mark"s ex wants to spend the evening with Mark. James discovers his "loose" ex, Anna, is now sober and has a son. Hope's supposedly gay ex, reveals he's really straight. 2009 ABC Family

Hope and James' one-time get together after the "Trash 'N' Treasures" party has become something more serious. Meanwhile, Mark's "stalker-like" pursuit of Jackie culminates in a visit to her apartment where they end up in bed. Mark is thrilled with the progress of their relationship, until Jackie reveals she's engaged to be married. Katie aggressively goes after David, only to find out he's dating another girl. Mark and Katie accidentally discover James and Hope's secret romance and Katie is now determined to finally talk with Mark about their relationship. Katie and Mark prepare to go to the bar and talk, only to find Jackie standing at their apartment door…in her wedding dress. 2009 ABC Family
