Into the Blue

Drama/Romance, Germany 2012

A story of a film-making crew travelling in Italy. Young director Nike is about to start shooting her first feature film. A road movie is planned that will take the characters (and with them, the viewer) across Italy. The focus is on three young women in search of the meaning of life. They are embodied by film star Eva and younger acting debutantes Josephine and Laura. On their journey they meet a monk and a fisherman and a philosopher. "Into The Blue" is a "film-within-a-film" film - but at the same time it's a father-daughter story. It is about the love of cinema as well as love in the cinema. And it is about the generation change in the art of film as well as the tragicomic relationship between an ambitious young director and a tired old-age producer.
