When Anne is not together with her friend Beate, she scuffles with her brother Ole or does things that you would rather expect boys to do. At the beginning of grade 5 (5th grade) she falls head over heels in love with the new boy in her class, Philipp Ruge. Philipp is new in town and moves into a house that is notorious for being a haunted house, of all places. But Ellen, the prettiest girl in school, also falls in love with Philipp, which leads to an open fight between the two rivals.
