Generation War

Great mini series , fell sad about greta being shot, it was great acting . no phoney stuff.. it was great . this movie should have won academy award .i just wish it was in English . I got lost in this movie, un-like the hot tub time machine, now there is a movie . I watch all 3 of them today and was glued to my computer the whole time. I am glad no commercials it would have ruined it. Great acting , very realistic

Make no mistake, this mini-series does not paint the Nazis in a good light. If anything, it helps show the real disconnect there was between the average German and those of the SS during this period. Many tend to forget that a large majority of Germans were normal people too, including most soldiers of the Wehrmacht who were often at odds with the cruelty of the SS. This series depicts this perspective realistically and emotionally through a tale of tragedy, friendship, and brotherhood.

Excellent series both visually as well as storyline. So realistic it seems as though you lived through it as well. Rarely do we get the chance to see this war through a German soldier's eyes. They were people also caught up in a world conflict. Highly recommend if World War 2 is your genre of interest.
