About this movie

This is the story of a young mother living in Northern Ireland fifty years ago, as her country teetered on the brink of civil war. The film tells the tale of a quiet revolution, requiring tremendous courage, that began when three little children were killed. Hundreds of thousands of people — mainly women — rose up to demand that their country change, and then took the concrete action necessary to create that change, themselves. With never-before-seen footage and behind the scenes interviews, "BettyWilliams: Contagious Courage" shows how average people can overcome their fear, and how one person can make a difference in a violent and unpredictable world.

Betty Williams' story is so powerful and timely. She shows us how courage can overcome even the most oppressive systems - and a calling to each of to stand in our own power and courage to create peace in our communities.

This is a Nobel peace price story. What occurred in the past, what happened recently, what is the new development and new contribution of this Nobel peace price winner (Betty Williams). What she is doing is all very meaningful for us.

This film is a convincing tale of how a lone, humble person can change everything for the better of all. Beautiful, intense tale of the truth.
