Every Wall Is A Door. A TV show in socialist Bulgaria
Bulgarian filmmaker Elitza Gueorguieva recalls that, in her childhood, she thought her mother had the power to be in two places at the same time, at home and on TV.
As a TV presenter for "Variant M", a well-known program in post-Soviet Bulgaria, her mother would take it upon herself to interview all kinds of people - hippies, scientists, employees - on questions of everyday philosophy.
Through archival material from those programs, Gueorguieva constructs this bold essay about a blurry era in a country that was moving from one ironclad model to another time of political uncertainty.
