Who can you trust when your life is a lie? Intimate and beautifully filmed drama full of gripping images about love and forgiveness against the backdrop of a world in merciless decay. Germany, spring 1945. After the arrest of her SS parents by the Allies, Lore is left to fend for herself. Together with her sister and brothers, Lore (a leading role played by Saskia Rosendahl) must walk through a destroyed post-war Germany in search of safety. On this hard odyssey she meets the Jewish refugee Thomas (Kai Malina, DAS WEISSE BAND). In order to survive, Lore must place her trust in someone she has learned to hate. Will she manage to tear herself away from the world she grew up in, the one she blindly obeyed, and open her heart to her true desires? Against the backdrop of a world on fire, the vulnerable young Lore discovers the power of her own feelings.
