About this movie

When Jenny (Anna Kendrick), a hard-partying 20-something, moves in with her film director brother (Joe Swanberg), his wife Kelly (Melanie Lynskey), a budding novelist, and their two-year-old son after a break up, the family's idyllic life is comically turned upside down. Jenny begins a rocky relationship with a baby sitter-cum-pot dealer (Mark Webber) and she and a friend Carson (Lena Dunham) team up to try and help Kelly find balance in her life. As usual, the results are in the eye of the beholder. A new comedy from the director of Drinking Buddies.

Definitely felt the indie vibe. I love how relatable the plot is and how the way they speak to one another doesn't feel scripted. It had the perfect amount of dysfunctional family living. On an off note, there is no real climax, and the ending left you feeling as if the write just gave up.

If you like indie movies that aren't plot driven but have good characters and, like a good novel, just reflect life back to you in a convincing way, give this a watch. Not perfect but I enjoyed.

Yet another indie film that begins at some obscure time period in the life of random persons and ends at just the moment where the characters are transitioning from static to dynamic and the plot passes from zygote to fetus.
