Synopsis

Invited to New York City to attend his uncle, Tang Ren’s (Wang Bao Qiang) wedding, Qin Feng (Liu Hao Ran) expects his trip to be a pleasant one. Unfortunately, he soon realizes the wedding was nothing but a ruse, contrived by Tang Ren, to get his brilliantly-minded detective nephew to the States in order to persuade him to help solve a challenging case.  The Godfather of New York City’s Chinatown, Uncle Qi (Kenneth Tsang), has gathered the world’s best detectives to solve the mystery of his missing grandson. With a week to solve the case, and a five million dollar reward on the line, Qin Feng and Tang Ren agree to join the hunt. As two of the world’s top detectives, it doesn’t take them long to find the missing grandson, but his discovery is anything but joyful. The victim of a gruesome murder, the duo soon learns that the boy’s death is just one of a series of murders taking place around the city. With their quick wit with keen eyes, the pair set out to find the killer. Along the way, they’re joined by another ace detective, Song Yi (Yang Xiao). Together, the three set out to find the villain responsible for this grisly string of murders. But with a group of detectives competing against them and a mob of thugs breathing down their necks, the job will be anything but easy. Will these detectives be able to find the murderer before he strikes again? A snappy sequel to the high-grossing film, “Detective Chinatown” (2015), “Detective Chinatown 2” is a 2018 comedy-mystery film directed by Chen Sicheng.
