decent but not crazy
I tried to like this but it’s so slow. The cultural themes are nice, but after the initial scene it’s half an hour-ish in before anything mildly interesting happens. Otherwise it’s basically teens complaining about their lives. And they do that part well, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t watch horror movies for the personal narratives.
Enjoyed the setting and some of the effects but I feel this one was let down by prolonged interactions between the kids. They are obviously ’local’ and novice actors giving it their absolute all but this could’ve benefited from some editing and upping the alien scenes. Worth a go though, regardless.
This movie would have benefited from more aliens those scenes were ok but it was more about the kids than the creatures .
The script was hard to follow. It has a unique storyline and beautiful scenery with some really good action scenes of the alien creatures. I made it to the end, but giving it two skulls because the acting was pretty bad, likely because of the script.
