Phenomena

Directed by Dario Argento

During her first night at boarding school, Jennifer witnesses a horrible murder while sleepwalking. After digging deeper into the crime, Jennifer meets a professor who uncovers her psychic connection to insects, and encourages her to use her strange gift to catch the killer. Dario Argento’s sci-fi spin on his iconic giallo style has divided fans since its’ release but for us, its squirmy pleasures have only deepened. Beyond the bugs, maggots and monkeys, it’s a creepy-crawly must-see, especially for Connelly’s fearless performance.

A girl with a psychic connection to insects must use her gift to catch a killer.

Cast: Jennifer Connelly, Donald Pleasence, Daria Nicolodi

This movie has a great lead in Connelly plus Donald Pleadance with a chimpanzee sidekick! 5 skulls easy.

This to me was a very unique and different feeling for an Argento movie based on everything I've seen from him. We got Jennifer Connelly and Donald Pleasance which was awesome, story is weird and way out there but the movie had a certain energy and mood that really kept my interest. And that monkey is a very cool touch .Kind of drags on for longer than necessary but still so worth your time if you ask me .

Probably one of my favorite films of all time. I’m not going to sit here and explain why it is such a good film because if you cannot see that, that is your loss. Art including film is highly subjective. I see so many reviews written by people who have only experienced horror in modern times. So when their idea of a plot and or storyline doesn’t come to fruition, they are totally devastated and hated immediately.
