I am trying to best to get tired of this movie but I just can’t seem to do it. It’s the best movie ever probably.

What can I say about John Carpenter's Halloween that hasn't already been said? Should I talk about how I believe that this is the greatest horror movie of all time? Or how impressive it is that they were able to make a timeless masterpiece on what Hollywood would consider a "shoe-string budget"? How about instead I talk about how Halloween makes me feel. The soft, cozy color palette. This beautiful town, almost like a painting. The juxtaposition of a peaceful place and the physical embodiment of evil. And how this movie contains the best depiction of Michael Myers. Not some force of nature, just a deranged man. Someone who snapped long ago and never came back. An innocent child who has become the boogeyman. It works so well because of how real it all feels. This could happen in YOUR town. Across the street from YOUR house. It isn't until the very end of the film that Michael demonstrates supernatural ability. When he is shot by Loomis "6 TIMES" and falls off a balcony, only to disappear. What a shock it must have been to see that for the first time. The rules that say the villain must die at the end of the movie, so that you may go home and sleep soundly, are broken. Michael just disappears. The only thing left of him is his breathing. Getting louder as it goes on. He could be anywhere. Outside (or inside) of any home. Even yours. Halloween is a true classic and a breathtaking masterpiece of horror cinema. A once in a lifetime film. Truly the greatest horror movie ever made.
