Loved this movie. It was faithful to the spirit and theme of the short story while still taking necessary liberties with the plot. This movie and "Annihilation" are both exploring very similar concepts. They would make an interesting double feature.
Awesome. A little different from the short story but still a worthy watch.
Good storyline
Slow at the start but culminating in an in explosion of "cosmic terror" suspense during the final 10-15 minutes. As someone else pointed out, this was a very "Lovecraftian" film. I wasn't crazy about the main character, but I suppose my assessment was due primarily to Nicolas Cage's usual oddball gonzo-type performance. Although I wasn't bored by the film, I might have liked it better if I had read the book beforehand.
I like the pretty lights
