This is another one of those movies that I can't wait to see because you want to see if it's as bad as most say. I felt this wasn't horrible but not great either however it does bring some good vibes to the table for me. A negative aspect is I thought it focuses more on her relationships with Percy and the sister than it did on her writing Frankenstein which was a let down. The Gothic old fashioned style it has I enjoyed alot but it did drag here and there, definitely wouldn't call it scary just a bit dark. I like the ending, overall I enjoyed it for what it was but it's a slow burn that needs to pick it up a bit and focus less on developing bland characters and more on the intent of what the subject is . Watchable though.

3 for history, literature,&Mary Wollstonecraft being AWESOME & ahead of her time. and 3 for also understanding a lot & i mean A LOT of the visions of the time came from laudanum, alcohol, malnourishment, being in a perpetual state of hangover& dehydration, possibly salem-witch style food poisoning, ptsd from the mortality rate( young folks,& especially highly sensitive creative peoples, isolating, locking up with only each other to turn to,realizing how self-absorbed yet at the same time self-hating these creative individuals were/are/can be),in their self-imposed banishment-they banishing society from their world-making up their own rules in times of manic highs & tragic lows in cyclic depressive states&constantly wrapped in adulterous, possibly incestuous relations-& of course, not only a genetic predisposition to brilliance but also mental illness, even suicide- portrayed pretty well. but, being a julian sands(RIP !!!) fan,& gabriel byrne & fan of the director: see Gothic, if only to compliment this. also Frankenstein unbound,if only for john hurt.

Wow, I mean I was ready for a frilled-cuff artsy interpretation of the classic tale and it was fine. Cheesy, but they were the romantics so, y'know. And then comes a scene where Percy just breaks her character and then rapes her and I was pretty not ready for that. I don't know if that was an event that occurred in history but I think it could've definitely been dodged. Or at least the scene didn't have to hold on her sobbing face for the whole 30 second scene. So... prolly not going to finish it at that point.
