Alaska State Troopers

At the 2009 Arctic Man Ski and Sno-Go Classic--Alaska's version of Mardi Gras--troopers face a massive law enforcement challenge as roughly 10,000 people celebrate and snow machine enthusiasts test their skills. The races and parties last for 4 days in the remote Mountains, and it's up to just 13 Alaska State Troopers to keep the peace, and perform dangerous search and rescue missions.

Families in Girdwood are ecstatic when troopers, on S&R duty, arrive at the airport with fishermen whose boat had overturned in the Twenty-Mile River. The impaired driver of an ATV which was involved in a single-vehicle-crash resists being transported to Wildwood Center. Guards at the Center describe the booking process.

A trooper from Nome flies to Brevig Mission to serve a warrant, and transports the person to Anvil Mtn Correctional Ctr. in Nome. An investigator from the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team interviews people who are flying to 'local option' (dry) villages. Two people are carrying alcohol illegally. Troopers keep track of spring flooding long the Yukon River.

"Frontier Force" takes viewers all over this enormous state as Troopers fight crime on the streets of Wasilla, conduct a search and rescue operation on the frozen Yukon River, enforce hunting regulations in the wilds near Fairbanks, and train for survival in Sitka.

"The Wild West" takes viewers across Alaska's vast frontier as Troopers fight crime in Brevig Mission, survey the devastating flooding of the mighty Yukon River, go inside the walls of Anvil Mountain Correction Center in Nome, and take a few minutes to watch part of the famed Iditarod Dog Sled Race.
