The days of fertility goddess Princess Sakuna leading a pampered, privileged life come to an end when she allows humans into the realm of the gods.

Much to her chagrin, Sakuna and her fellow exiles battle through raging ocean waters to reach Hinoe Island — but their trials have only just begun.

Guided by the instructional notes left by her mother, Sakuna and the others begin the laborious, time-consuming task of growing rice.
