In a world of magic, brawny youth Mash Burnedead lives in the woods with his father. One day, he ventures into town to buy his favorite pastry.

Mash takes part in the entrance exams for the prestigious Easton Magic Academy. During a test to escape a maze, a girl asks if she can accompany him.

During a broom-riding lesson, Mash attracts the attention of fellow student Lloyd, a notorious bully who is also the son of a high-ranking bureaucrat.

With his team lagging behind during the Duelo match, Tom gives Mash some words of encouragement. Later, the elite student Lance confronts Mash.

Lance helps Mash and Finn with a neglected class assignment. Later, the Adler and Lang dorms are tasked with hunting monstrous scorpions.

The arrogant sophomore student Silva challenges Dot and Mash to a sadistic test of endurance. Dot makes a gutsy proposal that he soon regrets.

After a confrontation with Abel, Mash returns to his dorm, where he and his friends resolve to put a stop to Lang House's thieving ways.

Dot goes up against the cutesy Love, whose windy magic threatens to overwhelm him — until he resolves to overcome his cowardice and fight back.

Abel reveals his chilling intentions to Mash, who, after fending off a series of deadly doll attacks, finds himself facing a manipulated friend.

Mash and his friends' celebration is cut short when a powerful adversary appears and tries to dispose of Abel. An unexpected person intervenes.
