Mike, a middle-aged man in a routine marriage, is wrestling with the fact that his life is passing him by. When a young couple moves in next door, Mike quickly befriends the young and vulnerable Jenna, who's trapped in a tumultuous marriage to Scott, a car salesman with an immature and pejorative streak. Mike works from home as a copywriter, which allows him plenty of time to pay attention to the beautiful young woman next door, who slowly reveals the darker details of her life with Scott. Mike's own marriage starts coming apart at the seams when his wife, Lisa, sees the attraction forming with Jenna, causing her to pull further away from Mike. As his previously mundane world crumbles around him, Mike makes a desperate effort to save Jenna, putting his relationship with both her and his wife on the line.
