Trailer

Description

Released just a few weeks before the nuclear reactor meltdown at Three Mile Island, this eerily prophetic film about a nuclear accident waiting to happen was nominated for four Academy Awards®. The story revolves around an ambitious TV reporter (Jane Fonda) who witnesses a nuclear accident that plant supervisors deem "a little glitch." But her cameraman (Michael Douglas) secretly films it, and it becomes clear that the "glitch" nearly caused a reactor meltdown, and that it could happen anytime. When the plant's veteran engineer (Jack Lemmon) discovers the problem and tries to bring it to light, an attempt is made on his life. In desperation, he forcibly takes control of the plant and invites the media to hear his testimony. But the plant's corporate officers will stop at nothing to make sure their secret never gets out.
