Something Weird Video liner notes: Once again, Hercules (BRAD HARRIS of Samson and Death Trip) finds himself between a rock and a hard place. A young Queen’s power is being corrupted by a manipulative adviser. Hercules doesn’t want to cause any harm to this daughter of an old friend but then again, if he didn’t help the troubled masses against the oppression of tyranny, he wouldn’t be Hercules. Luckily there’s nothing that a few well-armed people, strategically-placed punches, a test of strength, and a fight with a guy in one of the mangiest gorilla suits you’ve ever seen can’t solve. Kind of talkie for a Hercules flick but still delivers the thrills that you’d expect, (not to forget the aforementioned phony gorilla suit.) Harris turns in a great performance as Hercules. (Funny thing is, his Hercules is supposed to deal with both lions and elephants but Harris doesn’t actually show up on screen at the same time as his wild life opponents!) Check out ALAN STEEL (Hercules Against the Moon Men and Hercules and the Masked Rider) as the mute mercenary who causes Hercules so much grief. It’s one of Steel’s early dues-paying roles that lead him to star in twice as many Hercules films as Harris would make in the next few years.
