After 15 years in African bush country, Cady knows all about herd instincts, but nothing has prepared her for high school. She joins a popular but cruelly manipulative crowd of girls known as the `Plastics' and secretly mocks them, but the fun stops when one betrays her and steals the boy she fancies.
