Beat the Devil

Three of the men behind the success of The Maltese Falcon (1941) - John Huston, Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre - reunite in this thriller about a motley crew of criminals who cross, kill and double-cross one another as they compete to acquire a tract of uranium-rich land in British East Africa. Bogart stars as Billy, an American reluctantly working with four crooks whose voyage to investigate the uranium deposits is thrown into turmoil when a fellow passenger is murdered en route.
