Synopsis

When high-spirited, anti-authoritarian Randle McMurphy is transferred from a prison farm to a mental institution for evaluation, he expects to escape hard labor and serve his sentence in relative comfort. But he is thwarted by the rigid Nurse Ratched who runs the ward, and the battle of wills that ensues leads to rebellion and tragedy. Based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel.
