Director

Lukas Valenta Rinner

Synopsis

An atmosphere of insecurity spreads through Buenos Aires. A voice from the radio tells of looted supermarkets, vandalism and street fights. Earthquakes and tsunamis have triggered a severe economic crisis in the country. To prepare for the impending apocalypse, geologist Hernán says goodbye to his mother in the nursing home, takes the cat to the animal shelter and joins a group of citizens who give up their comfortable lives and arm themselves against the supposed end of the world in a doomsday resort just outside the city.  In a crash course in survival training, they prepare for the worst. The schedule is tight: optional classes in botany, government and politics starting at eight in the morning, followed by camouflage and "water survival" for everyone. Physical training and techniques are learned: how to disassemble and handle a firearm; how to disable an attacker in hand-to-hand combat. But little by little, the playful military sport turns into bitter seriousness, and the participants return to their primal violent instincts.
