Overview

The original, self-declared ‘rom-zom-com’ (Romantic Zombie Comedy) is one of the key films responsible for the recent resurrecton of the zombie genre. Simon Pegg plays the titular hero, a slacker whose lack of drive, signified by his prized friendship with layabout Ed (Nick Frost), is seriously affecting his relationships with parents and girlfriend. Will an impending zombie apocalypse be the wake up call to finally rouse Shaun into action?

Pegg, Frost and director Edgar Wright successfully continued the partnership forged on cult TV series Spaced for this enormously successful comedy feature, an unexpected his in the US which would inspire further instalments of the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ (Hot Fuzz, The World’s End) and lead to burgeoning Hollywood careers for all three.
