About this show

Britain in 1919 is a tumultuous mix of despair and hedonism, a nation cleaned out by the extravagances of the Great War. Returning soldiers, newly minted revolutionaries and criminal gangs all fight for survival in an industrial landscape gripped by economic upheaval. Based on a true story, this drama follows one ambitious gang in Birmingham as they rise to become the most feared and powerful in town. Named for their practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps, the Peaky Blinders run an empire of illegal betting, protection rackets and stolen goods.

I have been impressed by so many things in these episodes of parts of different conflicts. In SS-GB there was a clandestine meeting between the SS man and Scotland Yard man in Lulworth Castle where the searched for, found, and quaffed a bottle of wine secreted in a Priest's hole. Someone had to do research to know that the Lulworth Estate's owners are faithful adherents to the Church of Rome and they have kept the secrecy.

Cillian Murphy at his absolute best. The cinematography is 1st class. The Acting was top notch even if the accents were iffy. The theme music and soundtrack were a little offputting at first but I grew to love it. The set is amazing and authentic. An enjoyable and expertly made series. I can't wait for series 3. The research and genealogy that went into this production was extensive and accurate. I wholly recommend that you look at Peaky Blinders. The best brittish drama on tv for years. Well done BBC
