In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, a mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.

It's described as 1&2 but it isn't. UPDATE: turns out it IS both. There were 6 x 45 min episodes (incl ads) made but they're provided as 3 x 1 hour episodes without ads. I've changed my rating to reflect the show which is really enjoyable and original.

very good TV show, I have never heard of it before stumbling across it on google play and I have been enjoying it very much. Its well acted, with a good cast and the production values are bang on. I like the premise of a generational ship launched in the 1960's, it's interesting to see how culture on Earth and on the ship have diverged. this is a spoiler free review so I wont mention the story, but I highly recommend this mini series to anyone, not just sci-fi fans.

A surprisingly good series which I stumbled upon as others appear to have. Well acted and plotted, interesting concept, and sadly too little of it!
