About this show

Created by Daisy Goodwin, this ambitious drama presents the early years of one of history’s greatest monarchs. A saga of interlocking circles from the upper echelons of the royal court to the below-stairs staff, this is a story of passionate affairs, power struggles, and unrequited love, at the center of which stands the new Queen (Jenna Coleman)—a strong, complex, and willful woman who must, somehow, become an enduring icon.

I like the contrast between Victoria , Albert and her mother. It makes them seem typical like other families. The amount of opulence in the sets, and furnishings was also eye-opening and I found Ididn'tapprove of it, knowing how England taxpayers are paying for it. If we look at historical significance the way she endured is quite amazing, thanks to Lord M.

The Series was awesome. It was done by BBC so it WILL be serious and hard to catch comedy at times but it is closer to an accurate depiction which is what is enjoyable about British TV as a whole. Jenna did a great job portraying the young, strong-willed Queen. Those that gave it a low rating seem to be looking for an Americanized version referencing Emily Blunt's movie.

I love this show so much !!! I watched the second season in 1 day. And then the next week restarted the whole series again. I am so excited for season 3!! I originally started watching it because I love Jenna Coleman but was hooked instantly. I would also recommend the 2 books that accompany the series by Diasy Goodwin (creater of the show). The first is a novel and follows the first 4 episodes of season 1 ans the second is more educational and a biography with extra facts of Victorian London and some behind the scenes info too
