Season 1 episodes (6)

1 The End
2/15/88
A radiation leak wipes out the crew of the mining ship Red Dwarf, leaving only one survivor - chicken soup machine repair man, Dave Lister. After three million years in suspended animation, Lister emerges to find he is the last human being in the universe. But he is not alone.
2 Future Echoes
2/22/88
When Red Dwarf breaks the speed of light, time dilates, and the crew begin to experience visions from their own future. Sadly for Lister his future appears to include being reduced to his component atoms by a rather large explosion. Happily for Rimmer, Lister's future appears to include being reduced to his component atoms by a rather large explosion.
3 Balance of Power
2/29/88
Rimmer encounters his most dangerous blood chilling challenge ever - Lister is taking the chef's exam. If Lister passes he will hold sufficient rank to have Rimmer replaced as the ship's hologram. Just how low will the universe's most obnoxious dead man stoop to stop him?
4 Waiting for God
3/7/88
Holly, the ship's computer, recovers a strange unidentified pod floating in the frozen wastes of Deep Space. Rimmer is convinced it contains the remains of a long-dead alien warrior, and immediately begins a scientific investigation to decipher the pod's hieroglyphics. Meanwhile, Lister's rather mundane day perks up a little when he discovers he is a God.
5 Confidence and Paranoia
3/14/88
Lister contracts a mutated pneumonia virus. The hallucinations of his fevered brain materialise in solid form, and suddenly the ship is beset by herring rain and an exploding 16th-century mayor of Warsaw. When his fever breaks, Lister wakes up to find he has created personifications of his Confidence and Paranoia, and a war of manipulation begins.
6 Me2
3/21/88
Rimmer, the odious hologram, creates his perfect companion - an identical duplicate of himself. He moves out of the quarters he shares with Lister and starts rooming with his doppelganger. At first things are blissful, but the course of true love never runs smoothly, and soon the two Rimmers find themselves locked in a conflict so fierce, only one of them can survive.

About this show

Cult sci-fi comedy following a gang of space bums across the galaxy as they face shapeshifting aliens, time holes and even a monster made from mutton vindaloo. When a radiation leak wipes out the entire crew of his ship, Dave Lister wakes up three million years later to find his only companions are a life-form evolved from his cat and Arnold J Rimmer, a hologram simulation of his pedantic dead bunk-mate. Aimlessly roaming the universe, the ramshackle crew encounter danger and disaster at every turn. Can they stay alive long enough to find a way back to Earth?

One of the episodes I've watched is missing the laugh track. They apparently put the wrong one up for watching. (Season 8, episode 1: Tikka to Ride). Also, missing the specials like Smeg Ups and so forth.

A wonderful sitcom. I discovered this show as a kid in the early 90's on PBS Saturday nights at 11:30.... It stayed in my subconscious all these years came back again and now I have all the seasons on DVD. Anxiously awaiting season 11 & 12. If you love wacky British humor give this show a chance it will change you like it did to me! 😃 Smeggin Brilliant!

I've been watching this show since the late 80's. Just like to Say Thanks to PBS for Making Red Dwarf Possible for Us to watch here in the USA or I would never have known of this show Red Dwarf. I've seen every episode they have ever had so far. And, this show never gets old cause it's just that good. I purchased the full eight seasons on dvd a couple of years ago. And, season 9, and season 10 on dvd. I'm now re-purchasing all seasons on Google Play. I wanted my collection to be digitalized in the Cloud. So, I can watch any episode anytime without messing with any dvd's. And, it is Brilliant. This show "Red Dwarf" Ultimately Rocks.
