In late 1800s New York, a boy prostitute is found butchered on the Williamsburg Bridge. Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, an alienist, begins an investigation outside the law to find the killer.

The investigation heats up as Sara gets her hands on a clue. Tensions rise with the police department. Kreizler takes the team on a night out. Moore goes snooping at the brothel.
