But whilst Sir Hallam's forthright aunt Blanche disrupts life upstairs, feisty new maid Beryl struggles to adjust to life in service. Meanwhile, Lady Agnes' concern for her children reveals a dark secret about Mr Pritchard. Sir Hallam's preoccupation with burgeoning Nazi Germany leads him into dangerous waters, and a chance meeting with an unexpected face unlocks a hidden desire within.

About this show

One of the most loved television series of all time is brought back to life in a sumptuous production with a fresh new cast. It's 1936, and six years since parlour maid Rose left 165 Eaton Place, fate brings her back as housekeeper to its new owners: Sir Hallam and his wife Lady Agnes, and Maud, Lady Holland, his mother. Rose soon finds she has her work cut out as she recruits a new 'downstairs' family to help run the elegance and finery if the 'upstairs' world, but in both, it soon becomes apparent there lies a labyrinth of secrets, lies and scandal.

The BBC in classic style have cancelled a superb programme. Bring it back BBC - listen to the fee payers instead of wasting OUR cash on rubbish programmes.
