About this show

Pioneer Quest: A Year In The Real West, follows two couples as they assume the lives of early settlers to the West and spend one year living as 1870s pioneers on the Canadian prairie. Using only the resources and tools of the period, they will attempt build homes, raise livestock, hunt and grow crops. No running water. No electricity. No modern conveniences. They must work together to feed themselves, build shelter and endure the extreme heat and cold, share the joy of success and the stress of failure, to persevere and prosper. Through the incredible first person experience, Pioneer Quest shows how a large part of Canada was settled and the foundation for this great country was built.
