DI Jack Mooney and the team enter a nest of vipers when zoo owner Xander Shepherd is poisoned by a tranquiliser dart in the middle of the zoo grounds, leaving the family-run business in turmoil. With the zoo shut to the public at 5pm suspicion falls upon Xander's fellow colleagues. Meanwhile, the arrival of new police officer Ruby Patterson, who happens to also be the Commissioner's niece, keeps Jack and the team on their toes. JP takes on the responsibility of mentoring Ruby, whilst Ruby makes an interesting discovery when surveying boats at the marina.

A secret affair, seemingly unrequited love and rocky working relationships all cast doubt over the Hot Shots production team, as another member of the crew is murdered. With DS Cassell away for a romantic weekend with Patrice, JP and new recruit Ruby step up to help DI Mooney investigate. Meanwhile Florence returns with big news…

Soon after he breaks the news to his family that it is time for them to move on and sell the plantation, Benedict is found murdered. DI Jack Mooney and the team must navigate the tempestuous waters of a family divided. Elsewhere Ruby is settling in well and reveals to JP that she was once arrested, much to his horror. Has she put her own job at risk?

In the second episode of this two-part special, the Honoré police team are left stunned by another murder which is connected to the Tiana case. A phone call relating to the suspect arrested in the Tiana murder investigation takes DI Mooney and the team over to the nearby Rosalie Island to follow the new lead. Rosalie Island resident and millionaire Ewan Boyd, who owns a lucrative financial investment company, and his long-term employees and companions Frances Compton and Martin Stow all fall under suspicion as they each explain that they weren't the person who answered the mysterious call.

About this show

This warm, light-hearted detective drama is a fish-out-of-water story about a quintessential English policeman posted to the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie. To anyone else it would be paradise, but for Detective Inspector Richard Poole it's hell! Totally unsuited to the Caribbean way of life, Richard hates the sun, sea and sand and isn't used to their style of policing. But he finds his brilliant detective skills combine well with the local police to help solve a series of mysterious murders. Will Richard ever come to see the beauty of his surroundings? Perhaps not, but he might one day loosen his tie.

Fantastic show! You will love it. .. humor, murder and intrigue all in the beautiful tropics. Great cast, beautifully crafted fun. maria Coello avatar image maria Coello December 24, 2014 Death in paradise Awesome can't get enough pity that u killed off Richard Poole. I agree with all of that and yes WHY, WHY AND WHY AGAIN, did you kill him off bring him back. In as much as the new guy is good and different ad I like him as an actor you need to bring him back and remember if it ain't broke don;t fix it!!!

I absolutely love this show. I bought season 6 but I've just noticed that episode 5 was missing. Can anyone help or knows how I can get hold of this episode? Thanks! Thank you! Episode 5 is now available.

Light hearted humerous drama at it's very best as only the Brit's can do it. An oasis in the midst of mediocrity. I just wish they expanded the writing team so as we could extend each series to at least 12 episodes.
