About this show

Based on the feature film of the same name from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, "What We Do in the Shadows" is a documentary-style look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires who've "lived" together for hundreds of years in Staten Island. After an unexpected visit from their dark lord and leader, the vampires are reminded of what they were initially tasked with upon their arrival in New York over a century ago – total and complete domination of the New World. But what exactly is the best way to go about achieving said domination? The vérité camera crew follows along as the vampires set out to answer this query.

When you hear that a good foreign film is getting an American spinoff, it doesn't usually fill you with confidence, but this show absolutely pulls it off. The main cast has fantastic chemistry and the script is laugh-out-loud funny, not to mention studded with excellent cameos. What We Do In The Shadows does not disappoint.

The original film was amazing and of course it would be with taika waititi at the helm. I was at first disappointed that there was a spin off TV show being made in America without the original cast but have to say this is a great show! Nandor and Guillermo steal every episode. Ive even grown to like Matt berry more even if every character he has ever played has been the same (I know that why you cast Matt berry but it gets a bit meh). I would recommend this show to anyone

This is a fantastic, funny and genuinely enjoyable show. Possibly even better than the film.
