When Joy's (Joely Fisher) curvaceous figures fails to get her out of a speeding ticket for the first time, she flees to the nearest lingerie shop with Eddie (Brad Garrett) in the hopes that the trip will give her the "lift" she needs. Meanwhile, Kenny (J.B. Smoove) and his ex-wife Tina (Kym Whitley) continue to butt heads over the custody of their beloved dog Beyonce. A secret is exposed when Tina reveals the truth behind her 100 pound slim down which prompts Joy to take drastic measures to maintain her "good looks".

When Eddie (Brad Garrett) buys a flashy new sports car, Joy (Joely Fisher) feels replaced - and attempts to regain his attention by staging a faux affair with a coworker. Meanwhile Kenny (J.B. Smoove) buys Eddie's old hoopty and soups it up beyond recognition, leaving Eddie yearning for his old ride when his new dream car turns out to be a disaster.

When Joy (Joely Fisher) awakens from a bad dream, she looks to Eddie (Brad Garrett) for comfort, only to realize she was better off finding help in dreamland. Enduring a lifetime of Eddie's inability to listen to her problems, Joy begins to find comfort in Kenny (J.B Smoove) who surprisingly turns out to have a great ear for listening. At first, Eddie is ecstatic about the break Kenny gives him, but soon finds himself jealous and unexpectedly competing with Kenny for his wife's attention.

When Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy's (Joely Fisher) daughter Allison, (guest star Lauren Storm) returns home from college with news that she has broken up with her long time tree-hugging boyfriend, Doug (guest star Timm Sharp), her parents could not be happier. Putting up a fight, Doug persistently makes every attempt to win her back, prompting Eddie to put an end to it once and for all. When Eddie arrives at Doug's home with Kenny (J.B. Smoove) , he discovers that Doug is loaded, and after sharing the news with Joy, they both decide that Doug might not be so bad for their daughter after all.

After Eddie (Brad Garrett) wins a wheel of cheese at the school auction, Joy (Joely Fisher) makes him switch his prize with the Woodcock' win for a "night out downtown." Initially disappointed at having to give his cheese away, Eddie discovers that a night out with his wife has rekindled the sparks. However, when Joy suggests moving to the city, Eddie puts his foot down and their magical night turns into a marital fight. Meanwhile, Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas) becomes obsessed with eating the entire cheese wheel before it goes bad, forcing Steph (Kat Foster) to quietly dispose of it before her whole house is engulfed in the smell.

When Kenny (J.B Smoove) reveals he is un-circumcised to his new girlfriend, their relationship hits choppy waters. After contemplating his feelings for his new lady, Kenny decides to embark on the unfathomable and get an adult circumcision. When Joy (Joely Fisher) gets wind of this huge sacrifice that Kenny is making for his girlfriend of a few weeks, she begins to feel unappreciated by her husband of 20+ years. In order to put a stop to Joy's seemingly unrealistic expectations and Kenny's impending pain, Eddie (Brad Garrett) goes the extra mile to stop his little brother Kenny from making the biggest mistake in his life and his own.
7 Secret Meatball

After twenty years of marriage, Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) know everything there is to know about each other, to the point of monotonous predictability. The only secret Eddie has left is a heavenly meatball sandwich that he likes to order without Joy's knowledge. But when Joy finds out about his sandwich, the last bit of intrigue disappears in their marriage - so the two set out to regain some mystery by creating new secrets to keep from each other.
