Brambly Hedge, The Complete Series 1 and 2

Wilfred woke early that morning. It was his birthday. He had lots of lovely presents, but the best one was a surprise. Mr Apple organises a secret celebration picnic in the spring sunshine and all the mice of Brambly Hedge are invited.

It was a hot summer, the sky was blue and the sun never faltered. All along Brambly Hedge the mice were trying to keep cool on the banks of the stream. Dusty and Poppy announce their engagement and decide on an unusual setting for their wedding ceremony.

Bad weather is on the way and the autumn stores are still not gathered in! Quickly, all the mice of Brambly Hedge set to work to finish harvesting before the rain begins. Primrose loses her way in the Chestnut Woods, as the sun went down, the wind rose and it began to rain. Would she be able to find her way home again?

It was the middle of winter and very, very cold. The mice of Brambly Hedge forecasted snow. And they were right. In the morning they awoke to find their doors and windows hidden behind deep drifts. There hadn't been snow like this for years. "There's enough for a Snow Ball!" cried the mice with glee, and set to work in the time-honoured way to make an Ice Hall for the festivities.

The mice celebrate the Midwinter Festival in the Old Oak Palace. Primrose and Wilfred explore the upper rooms of the Palace but get lost in the maze of staircases and forgotten treasure filled rooms. Will they make it back in time for the burning of the midwinter log?

The High Hills are far away from Brambly Hedge and real adventure for Wilfred who sees himself as a bit of an explorer. The Voles in the High Hills provide supplies of Juniper Berries and Lichen for Brambly Hedge. The journey can be treacherous, and as fog rolls up the valley Wilfred and Mr Apple are trapped on the mountain as darkness falls.

A celebration on new arrivals in Brambly Hedge. Poppy's babies are Rose, Pipkin and Buttercup, they are quite a handful for Poppy and Dusty. The mice of Brambly Hedge work together to give a surprise gift to the new family.

The mice run out of sea salt early, so a expedition to the coast is in order. They set sail downstream towards the sea in Dusty's boat, sailing turns out to be a little more difficult than Wilfred first thought! A fierce storm threatens the stock of sea salt and the hatches are battened down.
