I was pleasantly surprised to find the realities of the middle ages being revealed in this show. Being a student of war, I've found the kingdom/serfdom relationship to be quite accurate as history so plainly reveals. The "executioner" reveals that he is, in fact, a "punisher", or, professional torturer for hire. The brutality of the time is not whitewashed and reveals the accurate struggle between the powerful and powerless to crush or retain humanity, dignity and sovereignty. Not for the faint at heart.

I absolutely am in awe with this show. Sutter and Barclay hit it outa the park. I was weary before it premiered because I typically dont care for shows or movies from this era but it just sucks you in. Good cast too, and Katy Segals daughter is going to just as good, if not better, of an actress as her mom. Also, I see some similarities with SOA and also many differences. Sutters character is gruesome and interesting. See more of him than I thought we would. Love it!

This is an accurate medieval telling of this time period. It shows lots of gore and torture that was real back then. Really love it! I also couldn't believe that I get to see Ed Sheeran (big fan of his) actually act. Wow! Not bad Ed! Please renew this show! It deserves a second season!
