Senior agent Jack Malone (series star ANTHONY LaPAGLIA), a tough but compassionate, seasoned and astute professional, heads the special New York-based FBI task force known as the Missing Persons Squad, knowing all too well that every second counts when someone vanishes. The sole responsibility of the squad is to find missing persons by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they've been abducted, are missing by choice, were murdered, have committed suicide or are simply accident victims. The team members construct a "Day of Disappearance" timeline detailing the 24 hours prior to the disappearance, and they dig into every facet of the victim's life, following a simple rule: learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is.

The team members investigate when a man and his 18-year-old daughter mysteriously go missing. They suspect that the father's hazardous job as a professional crime-scene cleaner is somehow connected to the pair's disappearance.

The team investigates the disappearance of a grieving woman and tries to determine whether or not she went missing while trying to rescue her son in Central America. The mother believed he was being held prisoner and tortured, and had possibly been killed, while doing volunteer work in Guatemala.

The team members search for a woman who disappeared after the police killed her boyfriend. They wonder if the missing woman's brother, a drug dealer and violent gang leader, is connected to the abduction.

The team members try to locate a woman who disappeared in the aftermath of an office shooting. They suspect that she went on the run in order to prevent a dark secret from being revealed.

In the second part of a two-part crossover episode that began on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," the FBI team and Gil Grissom (WILLIAM PETERSEN) search for a pattern that will help them capture a suspected serial killer.

The team members search for a male college student who vanished after making provocative, racist statements about African Americans to an acquaintance during a classroom discussion. Their investigation leads to the discovery of a family secret that could be connected to the man's disappearance. NANCY McKEON ("The Division") guest stars as Gail Sweeney, the mother of the missing man. MICHAEL DORN ("Star Trek: The Next Generation") guest stars as Nathan Riggs.

When an ultimate fighter disappears after winning a match, the team discovers he knew a lot of people that could have been responsible for his abduction. One suspect is a childhood enemy who was recently released from prison.

When an ex-con who has recently been released from prison goes missing, the team questions whether her past mistakes, including embezzling money from former clients, may have come back to haunt her. Recurring guest star HENRY THOMAS ("Gangs of New York," "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial") appears as Franklin Romar, a suspect who is arrested by Vivian during a raid on a brothel.

A college student -- and former child prodigy -- receives a death threat and subsequently disappears while working in a mall as a department store Santa. The team tries to determine whether the student had been using his genius for criminal endeavors.

The team attempts to locate Scott Lucas (guest star DANNY NUCCI - "Titanic"), a private investigator who has gone missing while doing undercover surveillance. Due to Lucas's line of work and reputation for getting the job done -- including exposing people's secrets -- the list of suspects is long.

The team investigates the case of a woman who vanished from the veteran's hospital where she was doing community service work. The team considers if the woman's disappearance could be linked to her connection to a radical antiwar group, or to her father's struggles as a Vietnam vet. Grant Mars (recurring guest star JAMES MARSTERS) helps Vivian track a suspect.

Jack tries to find a doctor who has performed illegal abortions on women forced to work as prostitutes in a human trafficking ring headed by Franklin Romar (recurring guest star HENRY THOMAS). When Jack doesn't turn up, the team fears the worst.

The team searches for a man who disappears after miraculously waking from a three-year coma, and uncovers a dark secret the man discovered while piecing together faint memories of life before his accident.

The team tries to locate a tow truck driver who rescues a young boy and becomes a hero -- and then vanishes. LINDA HUNT ("The Year of Living Dangerously") guest stars as Clare Bryson, a psychiatrist with the FBI. Recurring guest star ADAM KAUFMAN appears as Brian Donovan.

Five people with a curious connection are abducted at the same time from a coffee shop, and the team is called to investigate the unusual disappearance. Meanwhile, Sam prepares for the birth of her baby, and FBI psychiatrist Clare Bryson (recurring guest star LINDA HUNT) returns.
