About this movie

Disney presents a heartwarming comedy-adventure set in the modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia. With habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with fast-talking scam-artist fox Nick Wilde to solve the mystery.

Honestly didn't see this movie till december 2017 but since then have loved it and converted everyone I know into a fan lol. I have even gone as far as getting multiple shirts, hats and other apparel so I can wear something with my favorite bunny and fox duo everyday of the week since december of 2017. I highly recommend seeing this movie its meant for all ages as I am currently 34. Hoping to see a sequel soon, LOVE ZOOTOPIA ALWAYS and always remember you can do anything as long as you try.

An enjoyable detective story that plays well with the anachronisms of animals in a human world, Zootopia's plot is well paced but not all revolutionary (it plays like a long Scooby Doo episode). However, this does not make it less enjoyable for adults as it deftly plays with very relevant and cutting undertones that play more as a teardown of current society than a fun and colorful romp through the world of the animals. Sadly, right when the movie has a chance to truly seal the deal in its commentary, it lets off the gas and gives the film's villain an out instead of pulling for the full real-world analogue. The lack of fully three dimensional characters is something that the film suffers from, with only its leads getting any sort of meaninful depth that isn't setup for the punchline to a later joke. With a plot that isn't going to be remembered a week down the line, the strength of the characters is important, and on this front Zootopia leans far too hard on its leads.

I really liked it and wish people would keep their political agendas separate from children's movies. If you cant enjoy this without tying all your baggage to it then don't watch it. I liked it, my kids liked it. I think it has some positive messages about working hard, smart and being realistic about your goals, reframing personal weaknesses into strengths, while keeping an optimism about them in the process of growing up- something many negative reviewers could learn a thing or two about.
