Ziegfeld Girl

Discovery by Flo Ziegfeld changes a girl's life, but not necessarily for the better. Three beautiful women soon discover this when they join the spectacle on Broadway. Susan (Academy Award and Emmy-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Judy Garland -- "The Wizard of Oz," "A Star is Born") plays a singer who must leave behind her aging vaudevillian father. Sheila (Academy Award-nominee Lana Turner -- "Peyton Place," "The Bad and the Beautiful") portrays a working girl who is pursued by both a millionaire and by her loyal boyfriend, Gil (Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Jimmy Stewart -- "It's Wonderful Life," "Vertigo," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"). The mysterious European beauty Sandra (Hedy Lamarr -- "Samson and Delilah," "Ecstasy) struggles with her concert violinist husband who cannot endure the thought of escaping poverty by his wife promenading her glamour in skimpy costumes.
