About this movie

Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world where they portray two princes on a daring mission to save their land. They must rescue the heir apparent's fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed, but while one prince is gallant and brave the other is...less so. A hilarious and inventive fable, Your Highness also stars Academy Award-nominee Natalie Portman, Zooey Deschanel, and Justin Theroux. Directed by David Gordon Green.

It felt many times through the movie that it was an adventure movie with knights and magic that suddenly remembered it was suppose to be a comedy. Because of the 'oh yea, lets remember to tell a joke" attitude of the writings, rarely did I even register that it was suppose to be funny. If the writers and the director had allowed more improvised lines, it could have been funny. Zooey Deschenal felt like she forgot she was suppose to act, which was sad because her role in the Tinman. James Franco's attempts at being serious fell flat. Even Natalie Portman, who has made some great (and not so great) action movies had a lot of trouble trying to overcome the bad dialog. With all that, it still was a fun time waster.

This movie has its funny moments, but for the most part, it was a big let down. I expected this cast to make a funnier movie then this. Danny McBride is his usual self except this time with a British accent. There are a few good parts but overall, I have no desire to see it more then once. I've seen Due Date a thousand times and that movie never gets old because it's truly funny. This movie is mostly toilet humor with a British accent.

This is a hilarious movie. You can tell they had lots of fun just making a goofy movie that has decent effects and really funny lines. People that aren't getting it must not actually enjoy decent comedies. That's fine, they can have their Delta farce. I'll stick with well written and balanced comedies like this instead.
