About this movie

In this psychological thriller from Blumhouse Productions and legendary screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room), Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple seeking a restful vacation in a remote home in the Welsh countryside. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a terrifying nightmare when reality begins to unravel, dark episodes from the past resurface, and a sinister force in the house refuses to let them leave.

I might consider buying this for $20 due to rate of movies coming out right now, and feeling like I've watch all of Netflix at this point, but rent it for $20! You're joking! That's more than I'd pay to go to the movies where there's a huge movie screen, surround sound, reclining chair, and a box of Smarties. Feels like you're almost charging me a small fee to sit in my own home.

Decent acting, but not much happens in this movie. The whole thing with the house is not really well explained either. The trailer is much better than the movie. I would wait until it comes on a streaming service for free. Not worth $20 to rent.

It's like the writer read House of Leaves, stole a few ideas from it, and made a garbage ripoff. It had so much potential, if only it had actually been based on the book.
