But it turns out that it is a good movie. This reminds me more of Cat people than the howling. I must admit its actually what I was expecting this movie to be more like. I remember I snuck out of bed to watch this on Cinemax at midnight or so.

This is a good movie! It twisted, like a prezel, my Western spiritual ethos. When in Australia working for Aborigines, the movie was a great help in enculturating dreamtime concepts and the elders' warnings of disturbing the sleeping, underground monsters. How additional minning in the Kakadu World Heritage Park Phase III, would wake and anger those monsters. How the monsters would then destroy the world. The movie was extremely entertaining by conflating the material and the spiritual worlds!!!
