About this movie

From acclaimed director Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) and co-writer Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) comes a blistering, modern-day thriller with a powerful ensemble cast! When four armed robbers are killed in a failed heist attempt, their widows—with nothing in common except a debt left by their dead husbands’ criminal activities—take fate into their own hands to forge a future on their own terms.

The opening and the planning of the heist are the only good things about this movie. But it only takes up 10 minutes of this 2 hour movie. The heist itself is boring! The acting is mediocre, unnecessary sex, subplots that have nothing to do with the core story, and Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn didn't even try. I have a feeling that Gillian wrote the 10 minutes and Steve wrote the other 110 minutes of political, racial, and boring drama.

Beautifully executed heist movie that is socially conscious and has real heart. the visuals are exactly what you would expect from a McQueen with shots that drive the action home and ramp up the intensity while simultaneously elevating the beauty. If you are looking for a great ensemble of Women kicking ass, look no further.

Whaaaaaaaaat???? This film had to potential to be amazing. Great cast. Bold concept. Sexy female leads empowered to overcome the circumstances they had been dealt. Who doesn't want a story like that??? But the film was patchy and disconnected. The story had no flow. The character development was weak, to say the least. Important scenes and connections were left out completely. The plot was discombobulated, and underdeveloped. The storytelling was downright sloppy, full of cliches and expected Hollywood bull$#*t predictability. After the smart, intellectual, unexpected twists and turns of Gone Girl and the like, (Ms. Flynn should be embarrassed by this film!!!), I was expecting so much more from this movie. It was completely BLEH.... If I hadn't paid $15.99 to rent it, I would have stopped watching after 30 minutes. It provided some pathetic distraction during laundry night.... but I think reruns of The Bachelor or, hell, Doc McStuffins, may have been more enjoyable and had a better storyline. Don't waste your money, and definitely don't waste your time.
